The first sport I ever played was soccer. I knew I was a natural because I literally scored 5- 7 goals a game. My team the stingrays dominated the league for 5 years with an average of 23 goals between me and out team each game. Soccer was always fun but my dad coached football. It was a no-brainer which sport I was going to pick and had to make a choice because both were during the same season in high school.
In 2017 I was the starting kicker/punter for North Dakota School of Science. My first game for NDSCS was on September 2nd, and it was my first game scene high school and I was excited and determined to make a name for myself. In high school I played four years on varsity as a quarterback, wide receiver, kicker, punter, counter back, and strong safety. The head coach of NDSCS recruited me as a wide receiver and a strong safety, but I was moved to kicker and punter after I got in a fight with a Valley City University player. The Valley City linebacker hit our quarterback super late after the play was over. So I grabbed his face mask, slightly jumped, and rammed his face in the ground. Unknowingly, being switched was a benefit because kicking and punting had proven in minicamp that I could go Division 1.
In game one we were tied up 20 to 20 and it was our ball on our 32-yard line. Not the most confident they call special teams and with 20 seconds left and no time outs, I made a 42-yard field goal and won the game. As the season goes on, I am scoring 15 to 20 points in field goals alone and it was clear I was a big reason for our victories. I won player of the week five weeks in a row in the MCAC football conference and I was clearly the best kicker/punter. My rank would fluctuate between 1st and 3nd in kicking in the country (NJCAA) throughout those five games. I had also broken three school records for longest punt for 72yards and longest field goal twice at 47 years and a 62-yard field goal. I literally felt like a celebrity because everyone in town knew me. My future was looking bright, colleges coming to see me, offer letters coming, then things took a turn for the worst.
